As I've briefly mentioned recently. I was wondering whether it would be beneficial to use the gb funds to purchase some of these 245 ilvl recipes that are appearing on the ah. Especially as come next patch crusader orb prices should crash with the availability rising.

I for one know that the leather melee bracers are the bis available to feral druids and probably rogues alike and fill a slot that I am finding hard to upgrade. I've had to resort to using pvp bracers to tank it for example, and that in the entire of ulduar and toc10 there is one set of bracers from a hard mode which just aren't suitable. It can't just be me with these issues.

I guess it may be best to wait until loot lists for the upcoming 5 mans to see what is available to us so as not to waste gold, but I would like you to consider it. I mean we have plenty of people with the required skills to craft them, they are all boe making them available guild wide, which is much better than having to spam trade for a few days before getting lucky!

It's a good point to bring up Cheese, i've been wondering how the GB cash could be best used myself. It's all down to personal preference, and i'm not going to argue the pros and cons of it, but my gut feeling is that it isn't worth it for something that will (most likely) be available for free as a drop or from badges. I've got an eye on a similar pattern myself, but all things considered it's a lot of gold and resources for one item. If it ended up being best in slot even after T10, perhaps it's worth considering.

It's definitely worth considering as I know as well as most of you that some of the crafted stuff can last a player quite some time (I used my Belt of Blasting and my two BT crafted thingies pretty much all the way to 80).

But with Icecrown around the corner it would probably be best to wait until we can tell what kind of gear we can find in those 5-mans and perhaps with new badge rewards. And then it would be a matter of which to choose for the benefit of the guild, Leather bracers would be good for the handful of Rogues and that one Feral we have, possibly for our Hunters as well. But likewise, cloth bracers could be equally useful for our Warlocks, Mages, Priests and possibly our Boomkin as well.

I do think that it's the best way to spend guild funds though, as we're currently not doing anything with it.
